Through exploring the composition and the poetic use of negative space in Dr. Kan Tai Keung's Psyche in Motion and Honour to Master series of Chinese landscape paintings, the collaborative works are reimagined through handcrafted silk-screen printing, which reinterprets the texture of the original paintings. The essence and proportions of the paintings' compositions are extended into garment structures through Tak L.’s iconic use of three-dimensional tailoring and gathered details. Using a variety of fabrics predominantly made of natural materials such as linen, silk, and cotton, this approach evokes a sense of contradiction in texture. By layering these fabrics, the garments resonate the undulating mountain ranges seen in Chinese landscape paintings.
